Jim is the owner and CEO of Phoenix Global Support (PGS) a certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), located in Fayetteville, NC.  Formed as a Limited Liability Company in the state of North Carolina in 2007, PGS has grown to become the country’s premier provider of training for airborne and ground-based Precision Geo-Location capabilities and is the certifying company for the United States Special Operations Command as well as the National Security Agency in Precision Geo-Location capabilities.

PGS offers specialized training on state-of-the-art technologies along with a wide range of training, management, and logistics support services for the most demanding customers.  PGS also teaches courses from the unclassified level and up to/including TS/SCI in their SCIF spaces.  PGS operators are capable of meeting any demanding need worldwide.

All PGS employees have a Special Operations background to include numerous deployments in our current theaters of conflict.  PGS provides program management, extensive operational experience, logistical support, a highly skilled and certified training team(s), SME’s for developmental efforts to Tier One vendors, and state-of-the-art Top Secret rated facilities and classrooms to our customers.



James A. Lyons was born in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He entered the Air Force in May 1978 and completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas.

His duties have included Special Tactics Assault Teams on operational missions with spearhead forces for Operation JUST CAUSE and ENDURING FREEEDOM.

He deployed to conduct security surveys at embassies for the Department of State and Department of Defense and assisted with development of plans for evacuation of American citizens.  As Operations Superintendent for Special Tactics forces he developed war plans for joint staffs during Operations UPHOLD DEMOCRACY, ALLIED FORCE and ENDURING FREEDOM.  Jim was awarded combat jump-stars for Operations JUST CAUSE and ENDURING FREEDOM.   He retired from a distinguished active duty career with the United States Air Force in 2008.
